Kerala's Health Minister Veena George will inaugurate STHREE clinics (Strengthening Her to Empower Everyone), which are exclusive wellness clinics for women in Thiruvananthapuram's Pallithura's Janakeeya Arogya Kendram (People's Health Centre), today at 3 pm. The initiative is a first-of-its-kind programme in the country, as per reports. STREE is to be opened in all 5,415 community health centres of the state.
How will they help?
They are put together to address various issues of women, ranging from fatigue, diabetes, blood pressure, to cancer. Women can walk into these wellness centres and do the checks for free. They will also provide screening camps and wellness clinics in various neighbourhoods on all Tuesdays. The health screenings will be done through local self-help groups and expert consultations at family health centres.
