Kozhikode: Old age is really a matter of concern, especially when there is no one to support. But for this old woman a group of youngsters turned out to be messiahs of hope and happiness.

Sarojini, hailing from a village named Kottuli, was living all alone in her ancestral home which was almost ruined and dilapidated after her husband died. Childless and widowed, her means of living was donations made by generous people around. Sarojini couldn’t even think of leaving her beloved home for an old age home.

However, a group of youngsters in the village and their welfare organization, Kottuli Yuvadhara, were not willing to leave the old lady to her fate and suffer. They decided to renovate Sarojini's house.

During the two months which took for the renovation, Sarojini was shifted to Home of Love, a shelter home for the destitute in Kottuli.

And when Sarojini returned to her renovated house she was accompanied by her friends at ‘Home of Love’ as well.

The housewarming ceremony of Sarojini’s renovated house was conducted on August 12 in the presence of A Pradeepkumar MLA, ward councilor K T Sushaj and the inmates of the Home of Love.

Yuvadhara secretary Pramod Kottuli said that the organization would continue the care and support for Sarojini who would now live happily in her new house.
