K J Jaydeep, the Neelamperoor native who postponed his wedding following the Kerala floods and converted the venue into a relief camp, is now getting ready to tie the knot on a revised date.

Jayadeep was in news after his marriage with Surya, a native of Vechoochira, near Erumely, was postponed due to floods. He immediately converted the marquee erected before his house as part of the wedding ceremony into a relief camp.

The camp was later shifted to another place after the panchayat took over its control. Incidentally, Jaydeep and family had to relocate to a relative's place in Kottayam town as his house got submerged in floodwaters. But this didn't deter Jaydeep from continuing the rescue and relief efforts in the remote areas of flooded Kuttanad. The youth, his cousins, and friends kept rallying between places carrying food and other essentials to flood victims.

Meanwhile, he also collected Rs 60,000 from benevolent donors and it was spent on relief materials for the distressed sheltered at various camps. Jaydeep took a break from the relentless relief work after his health took a beating. He, however, doesn't plan to completely retire from the Good Samaritan's work and shared his thoughts in his Facebook post.

Jaydeep will tie the knot with Surya Sarath on September 2 at Vechoochira at the same venue. The wedding was earlier fixed on August 19.

The unprecedented rain fury and the floods that ensued since the second week of August had severely battered Kerala.
