Thought for the day: The place where God is present
Many may not have the ability to perceive the divine presence in everything or everywhere.

An ascetic used to notice that his disciple retreats to the wood everyday at a particular time. Once, the sage enquired the young disciple about it. He replied that he was visiting the woods to pray. The sage who was amazed by his reply asked why would he go to the woods when God was present everywhere. The disciple said, “It is true that God is present everywhere. But I am not the same everywhere.”

It is not likely that everyone would feel the divine presence everywhere. They may be able to find it in the most absolute and truest form only at some places. Shrines and other places of worship are not built because God needs an abode. It is to accommodate those who seek the presence of Almighty.

Many may not have the ability to perceive the divine presence in everything or everywhere. So, shrines are built to welcome him/her to experience the Almighty and enrich their souls. Places of worship offer favorable and serene atmosphere to pursue the divine.

None is the same everywhere; be it in thoughts or in deeds. Humans are responsive beings who smiles back to those who are good to them and at the same time wouldn’t hesitate to show grudge as well.

One’s ability to control his/her emotions would be lost if they allow the external factors to rule and influence their internal musings. Our responses or outbursts shouldn’t be allowed to mar our personalities. The thoughts, beliefs and deeds of the human beings should be immaculate so that the creator can make our hearts, his abode.
