Thought for the day: Lessons of survival take us forward
When you become proud about your achievement, just remember that there were hapless moments and you were able to make your way out by someone else' helping hand.

Generally, tribal communities make their young ones go through severe experiences at a tender age. They would take their male children into the forests as soon as the child turns three. The toddler would be left in the woods alone for a night. He would scream in panic when strange sounds are heard inside the forest.

Finally, when the first rays of the sun hit the woods, the terror stricken child would see a beautiful sight – his father waiting for him with open arms. Forgetting about the previous night’s ordeal, the child would run to his father and smile happily.

Everyone moves forward in life because someone else has nudged him/her positively. Encouraging and interfering inspiringly at the right moment can create miracles in life, and teach the lessons of survival as well. When you become proud about your achievement, just remember that there were hapless moments and you were able to make your way out by someone else' helping hand.

Nurturing isn’t limited to merely showing love or kindness to your kids. It also involves giving confidence to take on life and train them to be calm and relaxed, even in the face of unrest or distress. Many raise children by giving him/her the false perception that the parents are going to be around forever, to take care of them. The real training happens when the kids are made to imbibe life's lessons with confidence and proceed even if there is no one to support them.

Here is an important point for parents, care takers or instructors – constant chaperoning would only create the weak ones who are always hesitant to pursue life with confidence.
