Jaipur: Police on Friday said three people — including the CEO of a private IT company — have been arrested in Rajasthan’s Udaipur for allegedly gangraping a woman who works as a manager in the same firm after a birthday party.

According to police, the company's CEO, Jitesh Sisodia, hosted a birthday celebration last Saturday, which the woman attended.

The other two accused are the company’s female executive head and her husband, Gaurav Sirohi, a resident of Meerut.

All three were arrested on Thursday and produced before a court, which remanded them to four days’ police custody.

“The arrests were made after a case was registered at Sukher police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The accused were produced in court and sent to police remand,” Udaipur Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal said.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that after the party ended and most guests had left, the female executive offered to drop her home. She said she got into the car, where Sisodia and Sirohi were also present.

On the way, the accused allegedly purchased something that looked like cigarettes and offered it to her. After consuming it, she claimed she lost consciousness. She said she regained awareness the next morning and realised she had been sexually assaulted.

Based on her complaint, police registered a case, detained the accused for questioning, and later arrested them.
