Police thrash aide to Anto Antony, MP

Pathanamthitta: P Sanil Kumar, the secretary of Anto Antony MP, was seriously injured after being allegedly attacked by the Pathanamthitta circle inspector of police. He was admitted to Pathanamthitta general hospital.

The police action followed some issues related to the elections at Catholicate College, Pathanamthitta. According to Anto Antony, the police barged into his office alleging that some students of the college were hiding there. Sanil, who was alone at the office, was severely thrashed by the police.

The MP said that the attacker was C Sunil Kumar, the Pathanamthitta circle inspector. It is alleged that the police had beaten up some female students who were present on the road also.

The district congress committee protested the incident.
