Kozhikode: A Civil Police Officer was found hanging in a parking lot near the Kuttiady Police Stadium in Kozhikode Monday evening.
The deceased was Mavulla Parambath Sudheesh (42) from Pathiripatta near Kakkattil. The parking lot where he was found dead is connected to a private company's godown and is hardly 50 metres from the police station.
Sudheesh had been missing from the station since 11.30 am and a search was underway. The death is suspected to be a case of suicide.
Accoring to sources, Sudheesh was under severe stress in connection with a chit fund scam case. After the Crime Branch took over the probe, the case diary on the scam had to be updated and handed over.
Meanwhile, local Congress workers staged a protest citing there was a delay in moving the body from the location even after the inquest. The Congress workers have claimed Sudheesh was under severe stress. They have demanded a thorough probe.
Sudheesh leaves his wife Shini (UP school teacher), two children and parents Krishnan and Janu. His brother Surendran is a police officer at the Valayam Station. The mortal remains were moved to the Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital for postmortem.
