The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Kannur and Kasaragod districts for Monday. The weather agency forecast heavier rain across the northern districts from Wednesday onwards.

July 16 (Wednesday): Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad.
