Kottayam: A 12-foot model of the GSLV Mk III rocket was brought to CMS LP School, Kothala, as part of an exhibition organised for Nallapadam Club members in connection with Moon Day celebrations. The International Moon Day marks the anniversary of the first landing by humans on the Moon as part of the Apollo 11 lunar mission.
The model was presented by Sanjeev Joji, a Class 2 student at the school. It was crafted by his maternal uncle, Aji K Peter, from Njaliyakuzhy. Aji, who designs name boards for shops, constructed the rocket using forex board, stickers, and metal rods. The project took him three days and cost around ₹5,000.
Ward member Kunjoonjamma Kurien inaugurated the exhibition. CMSHA Kanam headmistress Deepthi Susan Jacob, CMS LP School headmistress Beena Thomas, Nallapadam coordinator Kavya John Paul, and PTA president Sajan Markose also spoke at the event.
