Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has announced a financial assistance of ₹10 lakh to the parents of Mithun, the Class 8 student who died after being electrocuted at Thevalakkara Boys’ School in Kollam. The decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday.
Mithun was fatally injured on July 17 after he came into contact with a low-hanging power line within the school premises. Although he was immediately rushed to the nearby taluk hospital, he could not be saved. The compensation will be disbursed from the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF).
