Thrissur: Four men were arrested with deadly weapons during a vehicle inspection at Amalanagar, between Thrissur and Keechery, in a late-night police operation on Tuesday. The Peramangalam police identified the accused as Anoop from Veluthur, Karthik from Pathanamthitta, and Steevo and Sreehari from Manakody.
The seized weapons included a baseball bat, a sharp-pointed tool, a machete-like blade, and a custom knife allegedly bought online.
Police have launched an investigation into the motive behind the possession. Raids were conducted at the homes of Anoop, Steevo, and Sreehari. All four were produced in court and remanded to custody. Except for Sreehari, the other three have existing criminal records, police sources said.
