Chalakudy: A KSEB employee and two bar staff were arrested for allegedly serving alcohol to two underage students. The incident took place on Thursday, when the accused, Snehesh (44), a native of Annamanada, reportedly picked up the students on a motorcycle from outside a school in Chaipankuzhi and took them to a bar in Mothirakanni, where he bought them beer.
Bar workers Divakaran (45) from Palakkad and Aneesh (34) from Wayanad, who allegedly served the drinks, were also arrested. All three have been remanded in judicial custody. Police registered cases under the Juvenile Justice Act and the Abkari Act, and departmental action has been recommended against the KSEB employee.
The arrests were made by Chalakudy SI Sajeev MK and his team, under the supervision of Thrissur Rural SP B Krishnakumar IPS. The SP warned of continued strict measures against offences endangering students' safety.
