Thrissur: The Olur police on Thursday registered a case against a man for animal cruelty after he tied a dog to his scooter and dragged it along the road while allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
The incident occurred around 4 pm near Thaikkattussery Centre. The man, who was travelling from Cherusseri, was stopped by residents who witnessed the act.
When confronted, he gave contradictory responses. The residents immediately alerted the Olur police, but he fled the scene before officers arrived. Police have launched an investigation, and efforts are on to trace the man.
