Irinjalakkuda: A new police aid post has been opened at municipality’s private bus stand in Irinjalakkuda. Allegations were raised at the taluk developmental committee meeting that altercations between students and bus employees were common at the bus stand. Besides, the private bus stand has also reportedly become a hub of drug pedlars.

The municipality in association with the West Lions Club has constructed the police aid post here to ensure the safety and security of the passengers. The aid post was inaugurated at the bus stand by municipal chairperson Marykutty Joy. Vice chairman Baiju Kuttikadan presided over the event.      

Municipality permanent committee presidents Jaison Parekadan, Feni Ebin Vellikkaran, Jisha Jobin, councillors Soniya Giri, Siju Yohannan, SI Krishna Prasad, municipal secretary MH Shajik, municipality health inspector Nissar, West Lions Club president CJ Anto, Bhasi Raja, Bhaskara Warrier and John Nidhin Thomas spoke at the event.
