Chief Secretary reviews tourism projects in Kasaragod, visits Bekal and Ranipuram

Kasaragod: Chief Secretary A Jayathilak visited Bekal Beach and Ranipuram, two of the district’s prominent tourist destinations. He was in Kasargod to attend a meeting of the Bekal Resorts Development Corporation (BRDC) Board, held at the Bekal Tajway Hotel.
MLA C H Kunjambu, District Collector K Imbashekhar, Tourism Secretary K Biju, Tourism Director Shikha Surendran and BRDC Managing Director P Shijin also participated. The meeting discussed ongoing and upcoming tourism development initiatives in the district and also reviewed BRDC projects.
At Ranipuram, the Chief Secretary conducted a special inspection of trekking activities. He also visited the Forest Resources Shop and the resort run by the District Tourism Promotion Council at the site. Later, during his visit to Bekal Beach Park, he assessed the damages caused by sea erosion and directed officials to initiate adequate preventive measures to counter such challenges in the future. Collector and Bekal Beach Park Director Anas Mustafa received him.
The Chief Secretary also visited the KC Throws Academy, which has produced several national-level athletes in throw events. The athletes requested the setting up of a hostel facility at the academy. Responding to their demand, the Chief Secretary assured that the matter would be examined and necessary steps taken. Academy's coach K C Gireesh presented the issues faced by the academy.
District Collector K Imbashekhar, District Sports Council President P Habeeb Rehman, Vice President P Ashokan, State Sports Council member T V Balan, along with athletes K C Sarvan, Anupriya, Akhila Raju, Helen Elizabeth, Siddarth, Parvana, Sreemayi, Sona, Ritubhed and Karthik were also present.
