Malappuram: A 32-year-old man died of electrocution while washing car at his home in Vaniyambalam here on Sunday. The deceased is Murali Krishnan, son of the late UC Mukundan, proprietor of UC Petroleum and a resident of Uppilappatta Chennalleri Mana.
The incident occurred around 5 am when Krishnan was reportedly using a power washer to clean the vehicle before heading to a wedding with his family. Relatives, who were inside the house at the time, rushed out after hearing a noise and found him lying unconscious beside the car.
Police conducted an inquest, and the body was shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination. Funeral rites will be performed after the autopsy.
Krishnan is survived by his wife, Arathi; son, Shankar Krishnan, a UKG student at Wandoor Otten English School; mother, Sheila; and sisters, Soumya and Savitha. Noted children’s author Harish R Namboothiripad is his brother-in-law.
