Alappuzha/ Kochi: Palm Fibre (India) Pvt Ltd, an Alappuzha-based manufacturer of coir mats, fibre mats and rugs, has won the Kerala State Pollution Control Board Award 2025 in the medium-scale industries category for its outstanding contributions to environmental protection and pollution control.
The award, comprising a trophy and certificate, was presented to Managing Director Jose Paul Mathew by MLA Roji M John at the AURA 2025 – International Environment Conclave held at the Adlux Convention Centre, Karukutty, Ernakulam.
Winners were selected based on performance in wastewater treatment, rainwater harvesting, tree planting initiatives, control of air and water pollution, energy and water conservation, and socially responsible projects.
AURA 2025 was organised as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the Kerala State Pollution Control Board. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the event, emphasising the state’s commitment to sustainable development while maintaining environmental protection.
Industries Minister P Rajeev presided over the function. Benny Behanan MP , Roji M John MLA, Chief Secretary Dr A Jayathilak, Special Secretary (Environment) Sriram Sambasiva Rao, PCB Chairperson S Sreekala and Shuchitwa Mission Executive Director U V Jose were among those present.
