Alappuzha teen stabs mother after dispute over mobile use

Alappuzha: A 17-year-old girl allegedly stabbed her mother after a dispute over mobile phone use, leaving her seriously injured, police said on Wednesday. The incident occurred at their home in Vadackal. The accused is a Plus One student.

The mother, admitted to the Government Medical College, Alappuzha, with stab injuries, is in stable condition, police said. “We were informed that the girl attacked her mother after being questioned about mobile use, but this has to be confirmed,” a police officer said. The mother’s statement, once her condition improves, will be key for further action, police added.
