Idukki: A plantation worker was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Idukki around 10 am on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Joseph Veluchami, a native of Poopara, Chundal.
Local residents said about eight elephants have been camping in the area, and a total of 14 have been spotted. Authorities have been unable to recover Joseph’s body as the elephants are still present nearby.
