Malappuram: A young couple was killed after the bike in which they were travelling collided with an electric car at Chandanakkavu here on Tuesday.
The deceased are Valiyapeedikkal Muhammad Siddique (30) and his wife Reesha M Manzoor (26), residents of Iqbal Nagar, Thirunavaya. The duo entered wedlock in January this year.
The accident occurred around 8.30 am. According to preliminary reports, the electric car involved in the accident lost control and rammed into the couple’s motorbike. Though the duo was rushed to a nearby private hospital, they succumbed to their injuries. The mortal remains were later shifted to the Government District Hospital, Tirur, for post-mortem examination. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
