Thiruvananthapuram: Over two lakh enumeration forms were distributed across Kerala until 8 pm on Tuesday as part of the ongoing statewide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. The count, currently at approximately 207,528, is expected to increase once all Booth Level Officers (BLOs) upload their data, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) said in a press release.
Door-to-door distribution began under the supervision of BLOs, prioritising prominent individuals and senior citizens. Chief Electoral Officer Dr Ratan U Kelkar personally handed an enumeration form to veteran film actor Padmashree Madhu, oversaw its completion, and collected it. The drive marks the formal rollout of the voter enumeration process across the state.
As part of the enumeration phase, which will run from November 4 to December 4, BLOs will visit every household to collect basic voter information. Electors listed in the 2025 roll must fill in their details, sign, and return the form to the BLO. Those currently out of station can complete the process online.
Officials clarified that no verification documents are required at this stage, and a signed form is sufficient for inclusion in the draft voters’ list. Verification will begin after the draft rolls are published on December 9.
The Election Commission of India has ordered the statewide revision to ensure accurate and updated electoral rolls that include all eligible citizens.
