Thalassery leaning pole at the OV Road overbridge junction is posing a safety risk due to repeated vehicle collisions.

Thalassery: The high-mast light pole at the OV Road overbridge junction, which tilted to one side after being repeatedly hit by vehicles, now stands in a precarious condition. Located at one of the busiest junctions in the town, the dangerously leaning pole has sparked serious concern among locals and commuters, who fear it could collapse at any moment.

The pole has frequently been struck by both small and large vehicles over the years. However, the situation worsened recently when a Karnataka State Transport Corporation bus collided with it in the early hours of the day. Six passengers had sustained injuries in the accident.

Drivers attribute the frequent mishaps at the spot to the glare and reflection from the high-mast lights, which obscure their vision. Locals are now urging authorities to conduct an immediate inspection to assess the structural stability of the leaning pole.
