The state government has notified the Christmas - New Year Bumper lottery 2025-26 (BR-107). The ticket price is ₹400. Ninety lakh tickets will be printed and the gross value of the tickets will be ₹257.14 crore. The tickets are issued in ten series (XA, XB, XC, XD, XE, XG, XH, XJ, XK, XL).
The first prize will be ₹20 crore. Twenty lucky winners will get second prize worth ₹1 crore each. There will be two prizes in each series for third, fourth and fifth categories of prizes. The third prize will be ₹10 lakh for 20 winners while the fourth prize will be given to 20 winners at ₹3 lakh each.
An amount of ₹93.22 crore will be offered as total prize money. As per the notification, the purpose of organizing the Christmas - New Year Bumper Lottery 2025-26 (BR-107) is to mobilize revenue for the social welfare and the developmental activities of the state and to provide direct and indirect employment opportunities, especially to the weaker sections of the society.
The scope and limitation of organising the lottery is to regulate certain types of gambling and illegal lotteries in the state and to curtail its impact on the poor sections of society by organising a state lottery. The funds raised through the lotteries will go to the state exchequer and as such it can be utilised for the developmental activities of the state and also to create employment opportunities, the notification said.
