Idukki: Students of Government Tribal Higher Secondary School, Muringattukudi, in Idukki district recently visited the Anchuruli Munambu ecotourism centre and participated in cleaning activities organised under the school's National Service Scheme (NSS) unit.
The visit was part of the NSS's 'Ente Bhumi' programme, aimed at promoting environmental awareness and community service among students. The activities were led by programme officer Dr V J Pradeep Kumar, teachers P S Littymol and Sunu Manoj, PTA president Princemon Mattappallil and volunteer leaders Ananthakrishnan S Nair and Adithya Sabu.
Officers of the Ayyappankovil Forest Division also joined the initiative. The unique features of the Anchuruli forest were explained to the students by Section Forest Officer Anil Kumar and Forest Officers Arun and Arya. The officials also familiarised the students with the various activities of the Forest Department.
