Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Election Officer Rathan U Kelkar has revealed that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) failed to trace nearly 25 lakh voters during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. Addressing an all-party meeting here on Monday, he said details of the untraceable voters would be published on the official website.
Of the nearly 25 lakh voters, 6.44 lakh were found to be deceased, while 3.19 lakh had permanently relocated to other places. However, no details are available for 7, 11, 958 voters. These voters were declared untraceable after BLOs failed to hand over SIR enumeration forms to them despite visiting their houses.
At the meeting, political parties asked the CEO to distribute the list of untraceable voters to the BLOs. They also suggested that BLOs verify whether the missing voters had moved outside Kerala or abroad.
As of 6 pm on Sunday, 2.77 crore SIR forms had been digitised.
The last date for submitting the enumeration forms is December 18. The draft electoral roll will be published on December 23. The period for filing claims and objections will be from December 23 to January 1. The final electoral roll will be published on February 21, 2026.
