The state government has allocated ₹4.01 crore from the Chief Minister's Disaster Response Fund (CMDRF) to KIIFCON as the first instalment of the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) charges for the Wayanad Township project. 

In July 2025, a tripartite agreement was signed between the state government, KIIFCON Pvt Ltd and ULCCS Ltd, and the contract for the Wayanad Township project was awarded to ULCCS Ltd for a total value of ₹299 crore. As per the agreement, KIIFCON is eligible for PMC charges, subject to a maximum of 4.5 per cent of the project cost. 

Accordingly, KIIFCON's total PMC charge is ₹13.455 crore. It was agreed that 50% of the eligible PMC charges shall be released at the time of issue of technical sanction, and the balance amount shall be released in two instalments; the first instalment after completion of 50 per cent of the value of work, and the final instalment after payment of the final contract bill.

In October 2025, KIIFCON submitted a claim for ₹4.01 crore as the first instalment towards consultancy and PMC charges. The government has earmarked ₹204.21 crore for the construction of residential units and associated services which are being funded from the CMDRF and ₹94.79 crore is allocated for the construction of roads and public buildings which has to be met from the SASCI(Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment) funds.

The government has apportioned consultancy charges in such a way that the amount for residential units, amounting to ₹9.189 crore, will be met from the CMDRF and the remaining consultancy charge from the SASCI funds. The revenue department has been asked to release the amount directly to the KIIFCON. 

The state government had acquired 64.47 hectares of land from the Elstone Estate group near Kalpetta for the township project, which aims to rehabilitate survivors of the landslide. The Wayanad district administration has recently issued a press note on the status, noting that the construction is underway for 344 houses across five zones on the 64-acre Elstone Estate land. Foundation and site-preparation works have already been completed for 322 houses.
