The Kerala government has launched the Sthree Suraksha Scheme, which provides a monthly pension of ₹1,000 to unemployed women in the state. The scheme was announced on the occasion of Kerala Piravi as part of the government’s social welfare initiatives.

Who can apply?

  • Women — including trans women — aged 35 to 60
  • Applicants must be permanent residents of Kerala
  • Only AAY/PHH ration card holders (yellow & pink cards) are eligible

Who are not eligible?

  • Beneficiaries currently receiving social welfare pensions for widows, unmarried women, and persons with disabilities are not eligible for this scheme.
  • Those receiving service pensions, family pensions, welfare board pensions, or EPF pensions are also ineligible.
  • If an applicant later moves out of Kerala or gains employment in central/state government service, government institutions, projects, universities, or self-governing/grant-in-aid bodies — on either a permanent or contract basis — she will be declared ineligible.
  • Heirs of the beneficiary are not eligible to receive the pension after her death.
  • If the beneficiary is remanded or jailed for one month or more, pension distribution will be stopped.

How to apply?
Step 1
To apply, you have to create an account on the official website of Ksmart – https://ksmart.lsgkerala.gov.in/ui/web-portal. Log in to your account

Step 2
Click on the new application tab and select Chief Minister’s Sthree Suraksha Scheme.
Step 3
Now, click on Chief Minister’s Sthree Suraksha Scheme Application Form.

Step 4
In the first step of Aadhaar & Ration Card details, select your district, grama panchayat, local body name and ward number. Now enter your Aadhaar details and click Validate. Give Aadhaar consent in the pop-up box, which reads:

“I here by give my consent to LSGD-Pension to obtain my aadhaar number and name for authentication with UIDAI. LSGD-Pension has informed me that my identity information will only be used for authentication purpose.In case of a child below 18 years parent/legal guardian have the responsibility for giving the consent for sharing information of the child,”.

After searching your details in the government records, a message will appear confirming your eligibility

If you are eligible, your ration card details will be fetched automatically. Now, select the name of the member for whom you are submitting the application.

Step 4
If you are eligible, you have to fill in the Applicant Name & Details

Give your address details in the respective boxes in English and Malayalam. After filling in all details in this section, click the proceed button.

Step 5
Select the job status from the drop-down list and proceed

Now, give bank account details

Step 7
Now you have to upload a document as proof of age.

You can use any of the following documents for this purpose: Birth certificate, school certificate, age certificate from Assistant Medical Officer, passport, or driving licence.

Step 8
Now upload your photo with a size of maximum 2 MB.

Step 9
In the next step, you have to confirm your eligibility by answering some questions. Once you have completed your answers, click Proceed. A message will appear saying ‘Eligibility check completed successfully’

Step 10
Now you can see a preview of your application. After confirming the details, click Proceed.

Step 11
Now, go through the affidavit and mark the checkbox ‘I agree’. Give your mobile phone number and get OTP. After verifying the OTP, submit the application. You will receive an acknowledgement now. The application would be automatically forwarded to your local body.
