The Kerala Government on Monday announced the Chief Minister’s Mega Quiz – Vijnjana Yatra, a competition rooted in Kerala’s vibrant history of social progress, which is set to launch statewide on January 12.
The event is being conducted as two separate competitions, one for school students in classes 8 to 12 and another for college and university students.
The event will take place at four levels: school, individual, education district, district, and state. The contests at the school level will be individual-level, while those at the education district, district, and state levels will be conducted in team format. The grand finale at the state level will determine the ultimate winners.
For the college category, competitions will be held at the college, district, and state levels. At the college level, participants may initially compete individually before moving on to team-based competitions. The final winners will be selected at the state-level grand finale.
In the school-level category, the winners will receive a cash prize of ₹5 lakh for first place, ₹3 lakh for second place, and ₹2 lakh for third place. Meanwhile, in the college-level category, the first prize will be ₹3 lakh, the second prize will be ₹2 lakh, and the third prize will be ₹1 lakh.
Additionally, the winners will also receive mementoes and certificates of merit, while all the participants will receive online certificates. Winners at the district level will also receive mementoes and certificates.
From the district level onwards, the competition will be conducted as a public participatory quiz, where audience members can answer questions and win prizes for correct answers.
