Malappuram: A fire broke out at a chappal factory in Mini Ooty here at around 11.50 am on Friday. Fire and Rescue Services personnel rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control.
Officials from the Malappuram Fire and Rescue Station said that no injuries have been reported so far.
Abdu Rahiman AK, former vice-president of the Kondotty Block Panchayat, told Onmanorama that the fire affected the entire factory and suspected that a short circuit may have triggered the incident. Fire and Rescue officials, however, said they had yet to determine the exact cause of the fire.
