Kozhikode: An 18-year-old youth suffered serious injuries after being electrocuted while attempting to take a selfie atop a stationary goods train near Thikkodi railway station here early on Friday. The injured has been identified as Sinan, a native of Payyoli.
Sinan climbed onto the goods train and accidentally came into contact with the overhead high-voltage electric line after losing his footing. Local residents rushed to the spot and took him to the hospital after hearing the cries of his friend, who was with him at the time of the incident.
He was initially rushed to the Koyilandy Taluk Hospital, but was later shifted to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital as his condition was found to be critical. Hospital authorities said that he has sustained around 60 per cent burns and remains in the intensive care unit.
