Thrissur: A man died after iron rods fell from a moving pickup van and pierced his body while he was riding a two-wheeler at Kuttanellur in Thrissur on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Sherin John, a native of Kuttanellur.
The accident occurred around 10.30 am near HiLITE Mall. According to the police, the iron rods being transported in the pickup van fell outward and struck Sherin, who was riding in front of the vehicle.
Locals rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. Police have taken the pickup van into custody. Sherin's body has been shifted to the mortuary of the District Hospital.
