Japan's psychic octopus Rabido 'killed,' turned into sashi

There were two notable executions in Japan this week - one of seven doomsday cult activists and another of the psychic octopus Rabido. The oracle octopus had 'predicted' that Japan's World Cup matches will no longer please its fans.

The Japanese team was struck by bad luck in its pre-quarter match against Belgium in the FIFA World Cup. The fate of its oracle also was not different.

Rabido has but satiated the hunger of seafood lovers. For believers, this could be a reason for the Japanese team's ouster from the world cup. The young mollusc was butchered and turned into sashimi after it made some fans with its accurate predictions from the padding pool.

Kimio Abe, the fisherman who caught the octopus, was more keen on selling it than using the cephalopod for fame like its predecessor oracle octopus Paul.
