Prithvi Shaw’s first Maharashtra assignment to be Buchi Babu tournament

Prithvi Shaw, who recently switched allegiance from Mumbai, has been included in Maharashtra's 17-member squad for the All India Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament, to be played in Chennai from August 18 to September 9.

IPL star Ruturaj Gaikwad is also part of the squad to be captained by Ankit Bawane. Gaikwad featured in the warm-up matches between India A and India ahead of the Test series in England.

For 25-year-old Shaw, the Buchi Babu event will be the first since his famous move to Maharashtra. The opener had been dropped from the Mumbai squad due to fitness and disciplinary issues.

Meanwhile, Gaikwad is unlikely to participate in the whole tournament as he will link up with the West Zone squad for the Duleep Trophy. West Zone will play the semifinals on September 4.
