Powered by Krishna Devan's last-over blitzkrieg, Calicut Globstars defeated defending champions Kollam Sailors by 14 runs to return to the second position in the Kerala Cricket League (KCL-2) table on Monday.

The Sailors' innings folded for 188 in response to the Globstars' total of 202/5 at the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Akhil Scaria, who scored 32, bagged 3/35 in the win, while opener Abhishek Nair's 74 went in vain.

Earlier, tailender Devan's big-hitting fetched the Globstars 50 runs in the last two overs.

Devan smashed five sixes in the 20th over from Sharafuddeen to finish unbeaten on 49 off just 11 balls. He hit seven sixes and a boundary at a strike rate of 445.5.

On Tuesday, the Globstars will face table-toppers Kochi Blue Tigers, starting 2.30 pm. Thrissur Titans and Trivandrum Royals will play the second match, starting 6.45 pm.
