Smriti Mandhana smashed the second-fastest Women's ODI century as India chase a massive target of 413 set by Australia in the third ODI in Delhi.
The opener hit a 50-ball hundred, eclipsing Beth Mooney's century in 57 balls, scored just hours earlier as the visitors posted 412. Georgia Voll hit 81 in the series decider.
Mandhana and captain Harmanpreet Kaur powered India to 206/2 in 20 overs before the latter fell. Mandhana's brave innings did not last long and ended at 125 off just 63 balls. She clubbed 17 boundaries and five sixes at a strike rate of 198.
The left-hander hit a 23-ball fifty, making it the fastest by an Indian woman. Her century is only the second in the all-time list, behind Meg Lanning's 45-ball ton scored in 2012-13. The Australian scored her record ton against New Zealand in Sydney.
India's chase fell apart after Mandhana was dismissed. Deepti Sharma attempted a rescue with a 58-ball 72, and Sneh Rana made 35 down the order, but India fell short by 43 runs, bowled out for 369 in 47 overs.
Just three days ago, Mandhana had scored a 91-ball 117 as India crushed Australia by 102 runs. She had scored a 63-ball 58 in the series opener, which India lost by eight wickets. Australia clinched the series 2-1.
