Vishnu Vinod scored an unbeaten century as Kerala made a solid start to the Vijay Hazare Trophy with a 145-run win over Tripura in an Elite Group A match in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

Kerala posted 348/8 in 50 overs with Vishnu making 102 off 62 balls. Tripura were bowled out for 203, with spinner Baba Aparajith claiming a fifer (5/15). Aparajith also scored 64 runs.

Opener and captain Rohan S Kunnummal was unlucky to miss out on a century, making 94 off 92. Vishnu, who usually opens the Kerala innings, came in the middle-order and completed his ton in the final ball of the innings. He hit six sixes and nine boundaries. Vishnu was retained by the Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2026 despite not featuring for them last season.

Sanju Samson, who is part of the squad, did not play. In his place, Abhishek J Nair made his List-A debut, scoring 21.
