Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur scored a half-century before the bowlers helped defend a total of 175/7, winning by 15 runs.
Kaur used six bowlers and all of them claimed a wicket each. By removing Nilakshika Silva, India's Deepti Sharma set a personal record.
Sharma has climbed to the top of the T20I wicket-takers' list with 152 scalps, surpassing Australia's Megan Schutt (151).
The Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram had hosted the last three matches of the series after the first two were held in Visakhapatnam.
India were in danger of folding cheaply early on when they were reduced to 77/5 in 11 overs.
However, Amanjot Kaur (21) and Arundhati Reddy (27 not out) helped India post a fighting total after Kaur's 68.
For the visitors, Hasini Perera (65) and Imesha Dulani (50) starred in the chase.
