Kerala's promising young cricketer Mohamed Enaan was bought by Thrissur Titans for ₹3 lakh in the auction for the third season of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL-3) on Saturday.
The 19-year-old right-arm spinner has represented India at the U-19 level and was part of the squad that won the U-19 World Cup.
Enaan featured in one match during the tournament and became one of the two Malayali players to lift the U-19 World Cup trophy. The other was Hyderabad-based Aaron George, who has roots in Kottayam.
Meanwhile, mystery spinner Vignesh Puthur was picked by Calicut Globstars. The left-arm wrist spinner was bought for ₹1.5 lakh after entering the auction with a base price of ₹75,000. Puthur represented Alappuzha Ripples in the previous edition of the league.
Puthur shot into the limelight during the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season while playing for Mumbai Indians. The Malappuram native impressed in his debut campaign, picking up six wickets in five matches.
His most memorable performance came on his IPL debut against Chennai Super Kings, where he dismissed top batters including Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube and Deepak Hooda to finish with three wickets.
However, his promising campaign was cut short after an injury ruled him out of the remainder of the season. Ahead of the 2026 IPL season, Mumbai Indians released Puthur, but he was picked by Rajasthan Royals for ₹30 lakh. However, he did not feature in any matches for the franchise.
Meanwhile, Kochi Blue Tigers secured the services of all-rounder Eden Apple Tom for ₹3.40 lakh. He represented Aries Kollam Sailors in the previous season.
