Eduard Bello celebrates his goal by running into the crowd and proposing to his girlfriend.

Eduard Bello, a Venezuelan striker proposed to his girlfriend in the middle of the Chilean league match between Antofagasta and Everton on Sunday.

Bello, who put Antofagasta ahead in the second minute of the game went for an unusual celebration.

The 23-year-old was handed over a ring by a member of the coaching staff soon after he shook the net. He then head to the stands, where he proposed to his girlfriend.

She said yes and the pair embraced but couldn't enjoy the moment for too long as Bello had to return to the pitch.

He received an ovation from the crowd but his romantic gesture didn't impress the referee, who showed him a yellow card.

Bello proceeded to find the net again for his club but it wasn't sufficient to prevent his side from falling to a 3-2 defeat.

He has been capped by his country on two occasions this year.
