FIFA World Cup: Valencia brace powers Ecuador past Qatar | As it happened

Doha: A brace by captain Enner Valencia handed Ecuador a 2-0 win over hosts Qatar time in the inaugural match of the FIFA World Cup on Sunday. Valencia drew first blood from the penatly spot in the 16th minute. He doubled the lead with a fine header in the 31st.
