Thesni Khan has a strong presence in both television and cinema. The actor with some stellar performances has carved a niche for herself in the Malayalam entertainment industry. Presently, Thesni is gearing up for a long journey that has been planned with great care and alacrity.
"I am not a great traveller. To be frank, I am not interested in making trips by paying travel bills out of my own pocket, and to date I haven't done that. But now I wish to embark on a journey and am gearing up for that.
This year I will be performing Umrah (pilgrimage undertaken by Muslims to the holy city of Mecca), along with my mother and relatives. Everyone can't go on an Umrah as there should be an inner calling to perform the pilgrimage. And recently I got that feeling to perform Umrah," says Thesni.
The actor adds that her mother was pushing her for a while to undertake the Umrah pilgrimage.
"So when I got that inner calling to perform Umrah, I thought of making the holy journey. What if I am not able to travel when I get older? There are many people who despite being wealthy are not able to go on an Umrah pilgrimage," she notes.
Though Thesni is not an avid traveller, she has indeed travelled a lot and visited many countries. She is proud to be an actor as her profession gave her umpteen opportunities to see the world.
"I have visited many places around the globe for stage shows and other entertainment programmes and travelling has given me lot of experiences," she adds.
"Artists travel as a team, that too a big one, while visiting places for stage shows. During those trips we get a ringside view of different cultures and cuisine. For me, these journeys were platforms to know more about certain people and make a distinction between good and bad. Sometimes people have shocked me, both positively and negatively, with their behaviour," she says.
"I have visited all emirates in the UAE as part of various stage shows. The world tour of 2000 was a great experience for me as I went to the US, Australia, Austria, Germany, France, Mauritius, Singapore and Malaysia as part of the tour," says the actress.
