Remo D'Souza visits Maha Kumbh 2025 incognito: Followers amused

Bollywood choreographer Remo D'Souza, whose best works include Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Bajirao Mastani and Student of the Year, recently visited the Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj, incognito. Dressed in an all-black outfit, Remo just had a few simple bags with him. In a video shared on his social media page, he can be seen exploring the mela premises, covering his face with a black robe and taking holy dips at the sangam. The holy dip is believed to clean sins and lead to 'moksha' or liberation. More than 1.25 crore devotees did the 'snan' or dip on Republic Day, which was the 14th day of the festival. 

Meanwhile, his followers on Instagram were quite amused by his video. One of the followers asked whether 'Remo D'Souza is back to Ramesh Gopi Nair again. Ghar wapasi?' referring to his off-screen name. Another person quipped, 'Remo give a demo.' A few people even poked fun at him for trying to cover up, saying he should roam freely and worry-free, as he isn't too famous! 'For a moment, I thought he was an IITian Baba,' went another comment. Remo has also posted photos of receiving spiritual initiation from the renowned guru Niranjani Peethadehhshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri. 

The next key dates of Maha Kumbh
The 'mauni amavasya' or the second shahi snan will be held on January 29. The third shahi snan, known as the 'basant panchami,' is slated for February 3 and the maghi purnima will be held on February 12. The sacred dip ceremony is often performed by naga sadhus, spiritual leaders and saints to bestow divine blessings upon their loved ones and themselves. February 26 marks the Maha Shivaratri. Prayagraj or Allahabad, where the Maha Kumbh mela is held, is considered holy due to the presence of the 'Triveni Sangam,' a confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and the mythological holy river Saraswati.
