If you drop in at Kitchen Thalassery in Panampilly Nagar, you can dig into not just Thalassery food, but authentic Kottayam and Thiruvananthapuram delicacies as well. Kitchen Thalassery is undoubtedly a food journey across different districts in Kerala, starting from Thalassery to Thiruvananthapuram. A family in Thalassery started off this venture. Every member in this family was an ardent foodie; varieties of food awed them. When this family moved to Kochi, they kick-started a restaurant here for the love of food, and named it ‘Kitchen Thalassery’, exactly two years ago. She is the proprietor of Kitchen Thalassery. With the help of her close friend Mammootty, Kitchen Thalassery was started in Kochi. The restaurant opens at 10 am and serves delectable Thalassery specialities till 11 pm. Malabar Biriyani is a special delicacy that is available at Kitchen Thalassery. Apart from chicken, beef, mutton and egg, other 12 varieties of Biriyanis are also available at the restaurant. Lagoon chicken biriyani, Spring chicken biriyani, Chicken fried biriyani, and Boiled chicken biriyani are available here. Apart from that, Squid Biriyani, Mussels biriyani, Quail biriyani, _Karimeen_ biriyani, Fish Amoor biriyani are available according to their seasons. In Amoor biriyani, foodies can dig into a whole fish! Rates are according to the size of the fish. Those who plan to visit here during weekends, there is something for you as well. Mysore mutton biriyani is a weekend special, and you would not want to miss that one. Apart from these biriyani varieties, vegetarian meals and fish curry meals are also available here. So it is not just biriyani varieties that they have here. Kitchen Thalassery has an array of chicken delicacies too. _Kozhi pollicathu_, _Kozhi nirachu porichathu_, Chicken ghee roast, Tandoori chicken, Chicken kebab, Chicken _varutharacha_ curry, Chicken Lollipop, Ginger chicken, Andhra chilli chicken are the other varieties offered at Kitchen Thalassery. The specialities about all these dishes are that the masala for each of them are made in authentic Thalassery way! For mutton fans, there are Mutton pepper fry and Mutton liver fry. Snacks that are available exclusively in Thalassery are readily available at ‘Kitchen Thalassery’. _Unnakkaya_, _Irachi pathiri_, _Pazham nirachathu_, _Kay pola_, _Mutta maala_, Carrot Halwa, _Meen pathiri_, _Kilikkoodu_ and _Kalathappam_ are some of them. For those who want some chilled goodies, you have Royal falooda, Dryfruit falooda, and Mini falooda. Milk shakes, ice creams and fresh juices are also available here. _Karimeen pollichathu_ in Kottayam Karimbumkala (a restaurant in Kottayam) style and Tranvancore style is another specialty at Kitchen Thalassery. _Neymeen pollicathu_, _Aavoli pollichathu_ are also available.
