A sumptuous meal for lunch and a place where we could indulge in some tasty snacks and tea in the evening. That was all we needed on a Sunday afternoon. The speciality of course is that all fried dishes are made in coconut oil. Thawaf offers an exiting array of non vegetarian dishes too. 'Aattinthalapottitherichathu', a mutton dish which when translated means 'an exploding head of a goat' is one of the most popular dishes here. The dish is made of mutton head pieces and is served in an earthen pot. The other specialties here are peppery beef and chicken roast and dishes such as 'chicken anam vechathu', stuffed mussels and mussels, all cooked in coconut gravy.
