The state has no dearth of extremely popular romantic getaways like Munnar, Fort Kochi, Kovalam and Varkala that can also give you a respite from summer, but they might not offer you much tranquillity if it matters to you. If you put in a little effort, you can hide gems that offer an equally fun, pristine setting to let romance thrive. Poovar Island
A secluded coastal area in Kerala's capital, Thiruvananthapuram, the backwater destination has floating cottages that offer sunrise and sunset views, tranquil beaches, birdwatching terrains, Ayurvedic spa treatment options and even private boat riding options through mangroves. Meesapulimala
Are you a couple who feels the most romantic while in the company of nature? Nothing is better for you than a trek at Meesapulimala in Kerala's Idukki district. You can also bring out your adventure side while enjoying the dreamy hike to the second-highest peak in Kerala. You could clearly see why Dulquer Salman's character in the hit film Charlie suggested it as a must-see to someone who had lost hope for life. 

Marari Beach 
Are sunset views and peaceful strolls on a beach your idea of spending quality time with your partner? Marari lets you do just this. And if you are in the mood to splurge, there are even luxury resorts nearby with private pools. You can also see the local fishermen at work, check out some wellness retreat centres nearby and even go for a rejuvenating yoga session. 

Vagamon
A few kilometres from Munnar, you have an extremely green Vagamon with rolling meadows, a misty pine forest, wildlife sanctuaries, hills and viewpoints. There is a chance that the tourist spot can get crowded during Valentine's week, but if you book early enough, you might be able to get a good hotel deal and enjoy all of these at leisure. Next month, the International Paragliding Festival will also be held here from March 19 to 23. The adventure park in the region will give you a taste of ziplining, paragliding, and more, even before the event.

Munroe Island
This serene island in Alappuzha was one of the main locations of 'Ponman,' the recently released Malayalam film starring Basil Joseph, Lijomol and Sajin Gopu. Even before, this picturesque spot had its set of admirers for its intricate canal waterways, guided tour opportunities, birdwatching spots and cycling tours. Rent a homestay in the area, enjoy some home-cooked meals and the island's panoramic views for this year's Valentine's week.
