Anny Divya is flying high. Literally. This Air India pilot who had to learn English when she started training at 17 is now commander to one of the biggest airplanes. And that is not all, the first time she stepped inside the plane was when she started training.
In a recent interview with MailOnline, she said, 'the first time I stepped onto an was aircraft to fly it.' Anny's father used to work in the Army and she was raised in Vijayawada. It was her mother who put the dream of becoming a pilot in her mind. Anny joined Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, a government-run pilot training institute in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh and then there was no looking back.
The Boeing 777 Anny commands is the world’s largest twin jet, a model with the capacity for up to 396 passengers. Divya has so far clocked close to 5, 000 flying hours for Air India.
