Explore Kumarakom on Cycle

The idyllic landscape of Kumarakom, country roads laced with picturesque boat-lined canals – ever wondered if there’s a slower way to savour this sought after tourist destination of the state? Here’s how – the Responsible Tourism Mission (RT) will lend you cycles and tour guides to ride down special tracks laid along the picture post card setting.

The RT Mission is actively implementing carbon neutral packages as part of promoting sustainable tourism. Kumarakom is one of the major destinations covered under the recently-launched RT Mission and the cycle tour will be its first major project. The initiative will allow tourists to explore Kumarakom at their own pace.

The trend of foreign tourists hiring cycles for local tours has been catching on and most hotels and resorts have a fleet of cycles in store. Taking a cue from this, the RT Mission is gearing to lay down cycle tracks along scenic spots which will make the jaunts hassle-free. As this year’s season approaches, Kumarakom is busy getting its cycles and tracks ready.
