Thrissur: A documentary on Anavary, a village on the hills near the Peechi dam on the fringes of Thrissur district, is likely to gather more attention to the place noted for its scenic beauty.  Professional photographer Pushpakaran Madhavan has made the film.

Kuthiran road tunnels, Uppungapara, Vettukunnu and the Kerala Forest Research Centre at Kuthiran as well as the Mambara waterfalls are at Anavary village. The under-construction twin tunnels at Kuthiran  will be South India's first-ever tunnel for road transport. The tunnels connect Palakkad and Thrissur district on the National Highway 544.

Madhavan, who has made frequent trips to the area, was moved by the natural beauty of the place. The aim of making the documentary was to transform Anavary into a tourist destination, he said.

The lensman was involved in preparing the script as well as direction and cinematography of the documentary, which is titled 'Anavary Prakrithiyum Jeevithavum (Anavary - nature and life). He has been in the profession for over 22 years and runs the Pranavam studio at Ollookara.
