Dubai: Dubai's flagship carrier Emirates has planned to resume flight operations from July 7 if government authorities give them the green signal.

The airline's website shows seats available for booking from July 7.

In a response to a query by a passenger, Emirates tweeted “Hello, we're expecting to resume our flights from India to Dubai as from 7th of July 2021. We're waiting for the exact travel protocols and relevant permits from the Government authorities. We hope to have more details soon. Please keep an eye on our website for travel.”

“We still don't have any updates on the travel guidelines from India to Dubai,” they added in another tweet.

Earlier on Saturday, UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) had said that they are extending the suspension of flights from Indian to UAE until further notice.

In a Notice Issued to Airmen (NOTAM), GCAA said that the flights from India and other 13 countries, including Liberia, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic Of Congo, Uganda, Zambia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and South Africa would remain suspended.

Flights from Indian cities were expected to resume on June 23 after Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management tweeted saying passengers from India with a valid residence visa who have received two doses of vaccine approved by UAE, will be allowed to travel.

Suspension of inbound passengers from India was first announced on April 24 for 10 days and was later extended.
